This year, the most discerning music festivals are on the same page: Ana Frango Elétrico, the Grammy-nominated singer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and visual artist, will perform on major stages this August – from Finland’s Flow Festival to Gilles Peterson’s acclaimed We Out Here Festival – and will kick off the Summer Festival at Kampnagel’s Club. The “Brazilian wunderkind” (Clash Music) blends Brazilian traditions such as bossa nova, MPB, samba, and Tropicália with modern influences ranging from indie pop to jazz, crafting contemporary pop that is both playful and sophisticated. The latest release, “A Sua Diversão / Não Tem Nada Não,” showcases a full range of creativity, spanning collaborations with legends like Marcos Valle (Summer Festival 2023) and contemporary voices such as Dora Morelenbaum (Überjazz Festival at Kampnagel 2024). Ana Frango Elétrico “builds bridges, reimagines genres, and shows that Brazilian music can be more than mere tradition,” notes HHV Mag. After sold-out shows in more than eleven countries, Ana Frango Elétrico now opens the festival as a pioneer of modern Brazilian music – a theme that continues throughout the festival with Arthur Verocai’s concert at the Elbphilharmonie.
