Young Audiences

Kampnagel warmly welcomes visitors of all ages!

The Kampnagel programme regularly features productions aimed at younger audiences – clearly marked with a corresponding description in the announcement text, the “for younger audiences” icon, and the hashtag #fürJungesPublikum, which can also be used to filter events on our website.

We especially value intergenerational projects – those developed by children and adults together, those that speak to both older and younger people, and those that spark age-diverse conversations.

We believe that a large part of Kampnagel’s artistic programme – even those events not explicitly created for children or young people – can still be exciting and engaging for younger audiences. Kampnagel’s programme is international, interdisciplinary, and addresses current themes and aesthetics. It spans a wide variety of genres, including dance, theatre, performance, music, visual arts, and theory. There are concerts, workshops, and readings – something for everyone.

We therefore make an effort to include age recommendations with all Kampnagel events. These recommendations help gauge whether a production might be suitable for younger audiences. However, visitors should be aware that these works are not created specifically for young audiences, and that the stated age is merely an estimate – based on how potentially challenging the content or visuals might be, and on the complexity of the texts involved.

Whether a show is appropriate for a younger audience should ultimately be an individual decision, depending on the interests, maturity, and language skills of the young person. If you have any questions about age recommendations or need more detailed information about a performance to help make a decision, feel free to get in touch!
