12PM-2PM Jazzmutant on the Road: Using Multitouch Technology to enhance Live Performance.Participants will see how the Jazzmutant Lemur multitouch controller can give the live electronic performer unprecedented control over audio software, whilst remaining engaging and interesting for the audience.The audience will see how the Lemur provides expert control over two Ableton Live sets: an advanced DJ/Live hybrid set and a 100% live set. Use of the Lemur alongside software such as Cycling 74s Max/MSP will also be touched upon. Participants will learn how to build an interface with this modular controller and be invited to try it out for themselves.

4PM-6PM Jazzmutant in the Studio: Using Multitouch Technology for easy Mixing and Playful Composition.Attendees will see the relevance and effectiveness of Jazzmutant's touchscreen technology in the recording studio. See why the Lemur and Dexter units are practical, inspirational and playful additions to the song-writing process.The Dexter DAW controller will be shown alongside the Logic software. This enables all mixing tasks to be done directly on screen with full visual feedback. This way of working eliminates the extra level of complexity inherent with traditional controllers which require occasional glances at the computer screen to operate.Participants will learn how custom-built interfaces on the Lemur can aid arrangement and composition. »Jamming« with the Lemur harnesses the creative left-brain, bypassing the right-brained tasks necessary in traditional linear sequencing. The Lemur's objects can also be used to make music which is more organic and natural. This will be demonstrated using Ableton Live and Native Instruments Reaktor.Participants need only bring enthusiasm and lots of questions! Registration recommended.
