FURY is a performative exploration of the primal states of human community. It is about the emotions that bind the world together at its very core. Emotions that predate language and social roles. Emotions that predate reason. It is about the rituals people need to cope with anger, fear and overwhelming stress. Masked beings, archaic imagery, states of harmony and moments of emotional exhaustion create a world in which protagonists navigate fragile social tensions. The piece moves through generations and traditions: from the beginning of life to its end, from anger to resignation, from isolation to possibilities of closeness. Once again, the mixed-age Hamburg performance collective SKART & Masters of the Universe is collaborating brilliantly with members of the inclusive ensemble Meine Damen und Herren, as well as with residents of the Epiphanienhaus Winterhude care home, Gob Squad’s Sarah Thom and the Hamburg-based performance multi-talent Günter Reznicek. In a sensory way, they engage with unnamed emotions. Together, they translate social tensions and states of psychological emergency into absurd rituals and playful moments of performance. Visually striking surreal emotional landscapes and emotional perspectives emerge, expressing a passionate struggle for community.

For the performances, we offer a free pick-up and accompanying service for blind and visually impaired audience members upon request. Please
contact us at least 3 days before the event by email at barrierefreiheit@kampnagel.de or by phone at the box office: +49 40 270 949-49.
