Migrantpolitan
The Migrantpolitan is a space in which diasporic and local artists engage in a process of exchange, develop transcultural strategies together and try out new aesthetic practices. This microcosm is a laboratory for collaborative solidarity in which new ideas emerge, cultural self-determination has its place and a pinch of anarchy is an integral part. Many of the activities are open to the public – and you are invited to join the Migrantpolitan community. Because as we all know: Integration is a bring-in, not a take-away!
During the renovation...
During the renovation, the Migrantpolitan and the surrounding garden will become a “gated community”, like the village in Asterix and Obelix. While the construction site is being set up, the doors will remain closed for a few weeks, but only so the Migrantpolitan fashion group “Hools of Fashion” can work on their “construction site collection”. Starting in November, the regular community events will resume: community cooking, language courses, as well as collective swimming in the heated pool, and everything else that Anas Aboura’s team develops together with the team from raumlabor Berlin in terms of communal activities. Migrantpolitan, as a place of lived solidarity and collective artistic production, will continue to do what it does best even during the renovation: serve as a safe haven and oasis with an intercultural vibe for homies from all over the world.
