Ashraf Alkhateeb

The Syrian artist and designer Ashraf Alkhateeb, who had worked for over seven years between Syria, Egypt and Lebanon as a graphic designer, now lives in Hamburg. Here he makes his homosexuality to the subject of his performances, fashion works, visual art and installation photography. For QUEERS IN EXILE, he develops a fashion show with his own patterns and designs; seven monochrome dresses whose patterns integrate prints of war photographs that were taken in Damascus.

Her party formats have gained a big fan base, especially techno, house and electronic music loving queers. She’s the one who you’ll find behind the turntable, serving a passionate blend of electronic & hip hop to techno.

Queers In Exile (05.-07.10.2017)

For members of the LGBTIQ* community, especially activists, a path to western exile can often mean a step away from repression and vi- olence in daily life and into personal and political freedom. Over the course of three evenings, the QUEERS IN EXILE laboratory presents positions that have generated new bravery and energy in exile – not only to freely express yourself on a personal level, but also artisti- cally and in terms of activism.
