Kemi Adeyemi ist Assistenzprofessorin für Gender, Women and Sexuality Studies und Leiterin des Black Embodiments Studio an der University of Washington. Der von ihr mitherausgegebene Band »Queer Nightlife« erschien im Frühjahr 2021 und ihr demnächst erscheinendes Buch »Feels Right« wird im Herbst 2022 bei Duke University Press veröffentlicht. Kemi Adeyemi’s writing and curatorial projects use performance as a site and method for exploring Black queer life. In this talk, she explores the relationships between verticality and race, and how a racialized orientation to the 90° angle often violently shapes Black lives.
