For over 20 years, the Congo War has turned an area the size of Western Europe into h ell o n e arth. For a long time now, the war has been more of a battle fo r c ontrol o f the c ountry’s m ajor deposits of high-tech raw materials than an ethnic conflict. In 2015, theater-maker Milo Rau brought together victims, perpetrators, witnesses and analysts of the conflict in eastern Congo’s civil-warzone fo r a unique civilian people’s tribunal. The special screening of the highly renowned film at Kampnagel will be accompanied by a symposium with prominent guests as well as some of the film’s protagonists from Congo, the United States and Belgium.
There will be a virtual reality-installation about the film from 7pm and after the film.
