Fokus Tanz #7 City of Dances

CITY OF DANCES combines two of the most important dance productions taking place in Hamburg this season: Running in parallel with the 6th edition of Fokus Tanz, the School of the Hamburg Ballet, the German National Youth Ballet, K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg and Kampnagel are joining forces to stage the 7th Dance Education Biennial, a congress for the next generation of dancers. Students from schools of dance and ballet in Germany and around the world will gather to expand their vision of the art of dance. Coming together for training and workshops they will also present their own work. At the same time Kampnagel invites to the 6th edition of FOKUS TANZ. With his show QUEEN BLOOD house-dance choreographer Ousmane Sy will present a stylish and virtuoso fusion of urban dance forms. Deborah Hay, an icon of choreography, presents three original solo pieces as well as her new ensemble work ANIMALS ON THE BEACH. Scotland’s most famous living practitioner of dance, Claire Cunningham, will give a lecture performance on the choreographic value of crutches, while the hyperdynamic performance artist nora chipaumire shares her insights into the embodiment of musical ideologies. CITY OF DANCES will also see Kampnagel and the HipHop Academy hold their first ever dance battle. And last but not least, Kampnagel and K3 will launch a new dance academy.

Biennale Tanzausbildung 2020 Hamburg ist eine Veranstaltung der Ausbildungskonferenz Tanz ausgerichtet von Kampnagel, K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg, der Ballettschule des Hamburg Ballett John Neumeier und dem Bundesjugendballett. Gefördert durch das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung. Zusätzliche Unterstützung für das internationale Austauschprogramm der 7. Biennale Tanzausbildung 2020 Hamburg und die Gastspiele von Fokus Tanz #6 durch die Behörde für Kultur und Medien der Freien und Hansestadt Hamburg.
