Information on Project Proposals with Kampnagel

Dear Hamburg-based artists,

Here’s some information regarding grant applications to the Kulturbehörde Hamburg, due by 15 November.

Kampnagel will still be undergoing transformation during the season after next (2027/28). We are therefore continuing to seek, above all, new productions from Hamburg that are designed for alternative venues, site-specific projects or public spaces. We have now gained some experience with potential collaborations and venues and are happy to share it with you.

Please do get in touch with us early (in August) if you are planning to submit an application, so that there is enough time for feedback.

As before, we would like to provide you with feedback on your proposed projects as far in advance as possible.

To ensure this and to better structure our decision-making process, we are setting a deadline of 15 September for all project enquiries. This deadline applies to a finalised draft concept, on the basis of which we can decide on venue confirmation. Planning and feedback meetings must take place before this deadline.

We will then inform you of our decision regarding venue confirmation by 15 October.

We strongly advise all artists approaching Kampnagel with a project concept for the first time, as well as those who have not yet produced regularly at Kampnagel, to arrange an appointment in advance with a member of the dramaturgy team to get to know each other and hold a preliminary discussion.

We try to keep our mailing list up to date, but we certainly don’t reach everyone for whom this information is relevant.
