Renovation & further development

Over the next few years, Kampnagel will be extensively renovated and extended in line with its listed status. The international production centre and the city of Hamburg, together with the French architecture firm Lacaton & Vassal, which received the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2021, are planning impressive extensions and an extensive renovation of the historic industrial site, which was founded as an ironworks in the middle of the 19th century. Today, Kampnagel is internationally established as a production house and is regarded worldwide as a renowned centre for contemporary art in various disciplines, dedicated to the avant-garde and attracting up to 200,000 visitors per season. The construction project is supported by federal funds, with Sprinkenhof GmbH responsible for project management and control. More Infos soon here.
