School Partnerships
We have noticed great potential in our cooperation with Hamburg schools to reach children and young people who are not informed about the Kampnagel programme and what is on offer at Kampnagel via their parents or other channels.
Through our Komplizinnenschaft model, we build long-term, regular exchanges with schools – beyond just one-time theatre visits. One key element of this approach is the Komplizinnen-Ticket.
This ticket allows all students of a participating Hamburg school – or even just certain grade levels – to attend cultural events* at Kampnagel free of charge for an entire school year, for a one-time fee of only €2 per student. This includes both class trips and individual visits during free time. It removes financial barriers and encourages curiosity for less conventional productions.
Kampnagel also places professional artists in schools to lead creative projects. One way to do this is through a TUSCH partnership – a programme supported by the Hamburg Ministry of Education that links a school with a Hamburg theatre for three years and provides financial support.
The FLEX & Co format of the Hamburg school theatre festival FLEX offers a further opportunity for cooperation, in which theatre courses from selected schools cooperate with artists and develop a production for the festival.
