After the final edition under regular conditions at Kampnagel, a new chapter begins in 2027: The International Summer Festival is moving out. While the Kampnagel halls are being renovated, we are leaving our familiar home behind – and taking this as an opportunity to try something new. In 2027, the Summer Festival will move out into the city, take over new venues, explore unexpected spaces, and create new kinds of encounters. Together with artists, partners and institutions, we are developing a festival edition that does not simply try to recreate Kampnagel elsewhere, but embraces the possibilities of this new departure: with new formats, surprising constellations, and international, national and local highlights. We are currently working on a program featuring world, European and German premieres, major names and new discoveries – spread across Hamburg and connected by the distinctive energy of the Summer Festival.
