No stepping back: Full solidarity with the democratic forces in Saxony-Anhalt

The dramatic electoral success of a confirmed far-right party in Saxony-Anhalt marks a profound turning point and constitutes an open attack on the principles of our pluralistic democracy. Anyone who makes exclusion, historical revisionism, and ethno-nationalism part of their political platform threatens the very existence of a free, open, and united society.

As Kampnagel, we stand in unconditional solidarity with all social, civil society, and cultural actors in Saxony-Anhalt who are directly affected by this shift to the right. Our deepest solidarity goes out to those who, day in and day out on the ground—often at personal risk and under enormous political pressure—stand up to right-wing extremism. Their struggle for human rights, diversity, and democracy is also our struggle. We will not leave you alone.

It is no longer enough to simply be concerned. A cultural center in safe Hamburg must not turn a blind eye when colleagues and civil society initiatives in other federal states face existential threats. We must act. Defending democracy is not just lip service—it is a daily practice.

  • Strengthening Networks & Sharing Spaces: Kampnagel will actively expand collaborations with initiatives, associations, and cultural venues in Saxony-Anhalt. We offer our stages, our platforms, and our reach to threatened actors to help amplify their voices.
  • Financial and structural solidarity: We call for direct, structural support—through donations and sponsorships—for local civil society initiatives, victim support centers (such as “Miteinander e.V.” in Saxony-Anhalt), and independent cultural projects.
  • Creating visibility: We will intensify the critical discourse on the systemic restructuring of our democratic institutions and organize alliances across the country.

We will not back down an inch. For a resilient democracy. For a society built on solidarity.
