Performance provocateur Ann Liv Young catapults her version of Sophocles’ Electra onto the stage. ELECTRA CABARET is a contemporary fairy tale: explosive, raw, emotional and full of brutal intimacy. In a surreal collage of scenes, she emphasizes the tragedy’s inner emotional world much more than the plot. As always in the world of Ann Liv Young, she mixes passionate love songs with equally passionate dance interludes and radical stage performances. Before she discovered her inner Elektra, the New York artist had already appeared at Kampnagel in two other female incarnations, with »Sherry« (2009) and »Mermaid« (2012).
