Flemish choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker is one of the most influential innovators in contemporary dance. She and her company ROSAS came to Kampnagel in 2014 for the Greatest Hits festival, presenting her production VORTEX TEMPORUM. Now she is back in Hamburg with her new piece, in which she devotes herself to the challenging phenomena of time and transience. ‘The Passage of Time’ from Brian Eno’s album ‘Another Green World’ (1975) are the first words that ring out in the wondrous space of GOLDEN HOURS (AS YOU LIKE IT) . The double title refers to a play in dance: in staging this production, De Keersmaeker was inspired by Eno’s music and by Shakespeare’s comedy. ‘As You Like It’ is a piece about the idyllic golden world in the forest of Arden, to which lovers flee to escape their corrupt court. The ensemble of eleven young dancers translates Shakespeare’s rhythm and poetry into dance, movement and gestures. From looks, hands and feet unfolds a magical world full of symbols and quaint customs.
