Playing with Fire – An Ecosexual Emergency

Dates

Sunday

4/26/26

7:30 PM

When lightning ignites the redwoods around their home in Boulder Creek in 2020, artists and longtime partners are forced to evacuate and transform loss into ecosexual art. Blending humor, community care and environmental awareness, PLAYING WITH FIRE – AN ECOSEXUAL EMERGENCY explores fire as destructive force and regenerative teacher, revealing how climate catastrophe intertwines with social injustice. Rooted in ecosexuality, their practice imagines kinship beyond the human and an ethics of care and desire that has long made space for trans* and genderqueer bodies. The film resonates with Kampnagel’s trans* platform LIMINALITIES. Stephens & Sprinkle will open the event with a talk, followed by a screening and Q&A with them and Cassils.

In Collaboration with Hamburg - International Queer Film Festival.
