The names of the people murdered in the racist attack in Hanau on 19 February 2020 must not be forgotten: Gökhan Gültekin, Sedat Gürbüz, Said Nesar Hashemi, Mercedes Kierpacz, Hamza Kurtović, Vili Viorel Păun, Fatih Saraçoğlu, Ferhat Unvar and Kaloyan Velkov. The mother of Ferhat Unvar, who was murdered in the attack, does not want her son to have died in vain. On his birthday, 14 November 2020, Serpil Temiz Unvar founded the Ferhat Unvar Education Initiative. Ferhat's family and friends are involved here and carry out anti-racist educational work. Ferhat's friends have now decided to create a memorial and remembrance space. Everything they remember and don't remember, speak and don't speak, is a collective attempt to commemorate. They share their memories and thoughts, their anger, their pain and also their strength. They speak about Ferhat and with Ferhat and in memory of Ferhat. Because in their common struggle against injustice and racism, Ferhat lives on.
