Bubble Palace
A temporary, hedonistic and inflatable installation at the site of the former Postbank next to HAU2 fuses different formats that not only proclaim solidarity but also practice it: those who are ostracised from today’s majority society spring to action and open up a room for encounter where ecstasy and community become possible. In »Bubble Palace«, club culture, self-empowerment and post- or neo-migrant formats merge to form an organic togetherness. Anas Aboura’s Oriental Karaoke transports the mood of karaoke bars in pre-war Damascus to Berlin: the queer karaoke Queereeoké liberates the soul – singing and armed with glitter and liqueur – from its troubled normalcy. In addition, each evening offers live music and DJ sets: the oriental slow house duo Shkoon musically combines the orient and occident; Boy Division and One Mother bring together anarcho-punk, politics, sex, a megaphone, and heavy beats.
