As a »staged proposal of several potential tools« against (self-)alienation, ¡QUÉDATE! (»Stay,« in English) takes the audience on a speculative trip through time, to a point from which we can look at our current age as well as our technological future. In the year 3017, we encounter Toto, who mutates from man to woman and then from woman into extraterrestrial being. We become live witnesses to the choreographer’s interaction with old keyboards and backwards-playing video material – as well as a meaningless discourse about a new beginning and the recapturing of empathy skills. With ¡QUÉDATE! (STAY!), Edgar Pol-Toto, who alternates between performance, discourse, hip-hop, voguing and contemporary dance in his pieces, presents his work in Germany for the first time.
