CHILDRENS CLOSING-AFTERNOON
The last afternoon of the festival belongs to children and the young at heart: In the Festival Avant-Garten, there are games, magic shows and concerts by artists who would also be in good hands in Kampnagel's evening programme - and therefore make it all the more fun for children.
Wald-Bühne & Kanal-Bühne & Festivalgarden
14:00 - 18:00 (Entry at 13:00)
With: MAIKE ROSA VOGEL, DJ KEKSE, DINO PARIS & DER CHOR DER FINSTERNIS, MANUEL MUERTE
MAIKE ROSA VOGEL
She sings about love, coal energy and Yoko Ono, has composed music for theatre performances by Milan Peschel and a film by Doris Dörries, and began as a Pop Academy fellow student and co-musician of Konstantin Gropper (Get Well Soon): Today, after four solo albums, Maike Rosa Vogel is one of the most famous German songwriters, who creates poetic psychograms from text and music. Vogel's songs are outlets for high boiled feelings, she thinks loudly and truthfully mostly in minor key. The proximity to lyrical pop bands like Element of Crime is audible, and their writing singer Sven Regener (»Herr Lehmann«) can also be heard on the trumpet on Maike Rosa Vogel's latest album »Eine Wirklichkeit«. The fact that her songs can also inspire children was recently demonstrated by the musician with the country song »Feige Nuss« (Fig Nut) on the children's music album »Unter meinem Bett 5«. »I may be afraid, but after all I am me« she sings there with a self-confident point.
DJ KEKSE
DJ Kekse is a kids party DJ with a background in Berlins club culture. In his kitchen, fine things come out of the oven and onto the record stove. A good pinch of bass, fine beats, subtly mixed and seasoned with everything that is fun – just delicious!
DINO PARIS & DER CHOR DER FINSTERNIS
Jan Preißler develops pieces and music for theatre, film and installations, sings and plays various instruments with the noise pop band »Vögel die Erde essen« and with the electronica duo Wælder. With his latest solo project Dino Paris & the Choir of Darkness he released his debut album »Alles wird ganz schlimm« (Kreismusik) in April. Irony meets world-weariness: Dino Paris is happy about climate change, describes his own funeral, finds signs of the imminent end of the world and informs about current virus software. He also knows why every suburban train would rather be a regional train and that even a litter box in space is somehow dialectical. Dino Paris is accompanied by the mysterious Chorus of Darkness, which is so mysterious that nobody knows exactly who it is. Jan Preißler (guitar and vocals) / Boris Nielsen (synthesizer)
MANUEL MUERTE
The real magician belongs to the world elite of close-up magic and was awarded the important Sarmoti Prize in Las Vegas, donated by the famous magician couple Sigfried and Roy. With his stage productions, he is a regular guest at Kampnagel and now also takes younger people to the limits of understanding with his magical abilities.
Festival Avant-garden Information
This year, the festival garden designed by JASCHA&FRANZ will be as special as the summer festival: In Hamburg's pearl of art leisure parks, there will not only be installations, performances and culinary delights, but also a daily changing programme on two open-air stages (details in the programme overview). Due to the Corona-related capacity restrictions for events, tickets for the individual evenings in the garden are available for the symbolic price of 3 Euros in advance and additionally at the Festival box office. A third stage is located on the piazza at the main entrance (free of charge with a seat outside the Peacetanbul Restaurant). With a ticket for another festival performance on the same evening you can enter the garden for free - as long as there is enough capacity, otherwise there might be bridgeable waiting times.
