The two-day workshop with dancer and choreographer Raphael Moussa Hillebrand is about more than just moves: it's about the foundations of hip hop dance - its history, its attitude, its cultural heritage. Together, the participants will explore how hip hop can be brought to the stage without losing its roots or smoothing out its energy. In addition to the historical foundations, the focus will be on concrete ways of choreographing: how can new stage formats be created from music, content and various movement materials that respect – and expand – hip hop? The workshop is aimed at hip hop dancers and choreographers as well as anyone who wants to work artistically with hip hop dance – whether in the theatre, in the community or in their own creative process.
