GERMANS, DO INTEGRATE!

Integration is the new magic word of mainstream society, a multi-purpose political weapon and a universal remedy – but the concept is misleading. Viennese performance collective God’s Entertainment has turned the inter-cultural integration debate upside down and radically democratised it. For instead of believing that through compliant adjustment and inclusion of those ‘outsiders’ we can create an imaginary idyllic state and that in this unreality social tensions would disappear along with ethnic and cultural differences, they suggest it would be better if all members of a heterogeneous community were able to integrate with each other in order to future-proof society. Therefore, after all of the leading culture, the integration courses and language exams our immigrated fellow citizens have passed, God’s Entertainment now invites those who have stayed to do the same as those who have arrived: Germans, integrate yourselves! God’s Entertainment will set up an info-integration stand to inform passers by about the new integration model in Germany for Germans, and tests them there and then on their own ability and willingness to integrate.
