Workshops are ful. Grrrlz_Talk on Thursday, 7pm, space available. Registration for Grrrlz_Talk not required.

Workshops, talks, a party and more – all around the subject of women and club culture. For grrrlz, and those who want to become one. Your disco needs you!

Ever since queer subcultures emerged in big North American cities, clubs have not only been a field of experimentation for new musical forms, they’ve also been a hedonistic counterpoint to (male) skills and rock-n-roll behavior. But if you take a closer look at today’s club bookings, you’ll see that when it comes to gender equality, things are retrograde. In order to productively fight this problem, at this year’s Summerfestival, young women will be able to learn the skills needed to work as a DJ or booker, under the leadership of experienced female artists. At the GRRRLZ_TALK public panel, representatives of the local club scene discuss the situation in Hamburg. GRRRLZ_CLUB will present a gender and genre-busting concert program (Inga Copeland & EMIKA). All are welcome!

Please register: sommerfestival@kampnagel.de Participation for children 16 years and older.
