Under the working title of, ‘The struggle of refugees – how to go on?’ the Lampedusa group is promoting networking for refugees with their own conference in Hamburg, enabling an exchange on the current situation and legal positions in Germany and Europe. For three days, supporters and activists will discuss topics including asylum legislation, deportation, racist attacks, violence against women, child kidnapping and the division into war refugees and economic refugees. After all, the main reasons for fleeing to Europe are still colonialism, war and ecological destruction in refugees’ home countries. The conference brings together the most important voices in the political struggle of refugees and brings concrete suggestions to the table for implementing better living conditions. Everyone is invited to play an active role as refugees, activists and interested parties from Hamburg and many other European and German cities create a forum for inspiration and discussion, opening up new scope for action. Come all! And in solidarity!
