With the piece ENSEMBLE, Hamburg choreographer Jenny Beyer and eight dancers have decided to brush the traditional form of group dance in ballet against the grain: the classical corps de ballet as a homogenizing human formation is broken up. The dancers set out in search of a community in which the many become visible in their uniqueness. Eight of them ask what it means to be able to follow mechanisms of conformity, but not to have to. Beyond uniformity, a corps de ballet emerges that makes room for differences as well as for a word that actually does not exist: Multibody.

ENSEMBLE is a production by Jenny Beyer, in co-production with Kampnagel. ENSEMBLE is created with the help of the encounter format of the OPEN STUDIOS, in which people are invited to participate in the development process of the play. Since 2022, the OPEN STUDIOS have taken place in cooperation with HausDrei e.V. and the Kulturhaus Eidelstedt.
