The demand at our box office never stops – this Kampnagel classic remains one of the most joyful and popular collective experiences. For years, this mass-participation sing-along format has thrilled an intergenerational audience, and now it returns to the big stage just in time for Christmas.

Here’s how orchestra karaoke works: Jan Dvorak conducts the Young Symphonikers Hamburg, who perform well-known pop songs with a full orchestral line-up. Host Matthias von Hartz, in his signature spirited style (in German language), invites individual members of the audience to step up and sing on Kampnagel’s largest stage. The lyrics appear on a giant screen for everyone, with the living karaoke machine Jan Wulf pointing out the text flow with his finger. With a full orchestra at your back and the audience as a giant background choir – everyone becomes a star!
