BARRICADES AND DANCES Moritz Frischkorn, Hamburg
BARRICADES AND DANCES is a collection of dances dedicated to objects from revolutionary movements. These objects are agents and witnesses of upheaval and the renegotiation of lifestyles and environments. The dances produce a connection and an intimacy to these inanimate things and explore a new connection between performers and objects. For the revolution to survive, it constantly needs new structures. There‘s always some thing left (to do and to dance for).Moritz Frischkorn is a choreographer, performer and theorist based in Hamburg. He studied dance and performance e.g. in Berlin, Salzburg, Hamburg and Stockholm and was awarded a danceWEB scholarship in 2014. In 2015, he began researching the social choreographies of things as part of the artistic-scientific post-graduate program Performing Citizenship (HCU, HAW, Fundus Theater, K3).Funded by Kulturbehörde Hamburg and Alfred Töpfer Stiftung F.V.S.
TEMPTRESS Angela Kecinski, Hamburg
TemptressIs dance expression or abstract form? Passion as in flamenco, erotic seduction as in burlesque – the performer’s poses reveal and deconstruct the many approaches of different styles. They define new rules in our paradoxical handling of expression, feeling and fantasy as they initiate an intimate game. Does the spectator become voyeur? Can a viewer still engage in acts of creative imagination in a world saturated with explicit images?Angela Kecinski studied dance at ArtEZ in Arnhem. After engagements as a dancer e.g. in the dance company nordwest of the Staatstheater Oldenburg, at the Theater Bremen and the Skanes Dansteater Malmö, she began teaching and working freelance in different contexts. In 2014, she completed the MA Performance Studies at the University of Hamburg.Funded by Hamburgische Kulturstiftung and Rudolf Augstein Stiftung.
