Hamburg is beautiful and is set to become even more so! The fairy tale of the most beautiful city is one with a happy ending – at least for some. Others are quickly deemed undesirable in the polished cityscape – for this debate is about who is allowed to be visible and who is to be pushed out of public space. With their audio walk ONCE UPON A TIME IN ST GEORG, the Hamburg-based Radioballett artists LIGNA aim to tell a different fairy tale. Step by step, they move with the audience through an enchanted neighbourhood. Together, they overcome the defensive anti-architecture and encounter the collateral damage of a system. They follow the traces of those people who are in danger of falling out of the picture of the functioning city. And they dream the dream of a fairy tale in which one learns to fly with the dragons.
