In Keywan Karimi’s feature film, Teheran has the only leading role. It is a black-and-white film that challenges the audience; it was nominated for the Venice Film Festival’s Golden Lion. Keywan Karimi, born in 1985, is an independent Kurdish/Iranian filmmaker.

The new festival WUNDERN ÜBER TANAWO’, founded by Raphaela Rößler and Sören Faika, is devoted to different levels of contrasting perspectives from the outside and inside of today’s Iran. The festival is multidisciplinary and will be a guest at the Elbphilharmonie, Yoko, Affenfaust Galerie and Alabama for four days of events. The theater piece by the director Hamid Pourazari, SEKUNDEN WIE JAHRE [SÂL SÂNIYE], will take place at Kampnagel, as well as a discourse and a concert program.
