La Fleur (Gintersdorfer / Ordinateur / Mugler / Martinez)

Three contemporary dancers – Ordinateur, a star of Couper Décaler; Alex Mugler, a New York voguing sensation; and Carlos Gabriel Martinez, a specialist in Mexican urban dance – share the stage in this work by the group La Fleur, which was formed in 2017 by director Monika Gintersdorfer and choreographer Franck Edmond Yao. Undisputed figures of their respective communities and exceptional dancers, the encounter of these three dancers brings together a generous energy carried by the hybridisation of music and dance. Their dances are as different as they are similar in essence. Embodying and bringing together a community through their mastery of a dance. In TRIO, the vigour of Couper Décaler meets the queer spirit of voguing and the crossbreeding of Mexican urban dances. This could create confrontation, competition and opposition, but in fact it opens a space for dialogue, exchange and hybridisation. The borders between continents, artistic disciplines and genres become interactions and reciprocal influences.
