Lena Chamamyan, one of the most prominent singers and musicians in the Arabic-speaking world, returns to Kampnagel after seven years. Chamamyan has gained fame for her contemporary versions of traditional folk songs from Syria, Armenia, and most recently, Bahrain. As a composer and multi-instrumentalist, she has crafted a unique blend of Western and Eastern harmonies on four studio albums, and she sings in a total of six different languages. Since 2011, the Damascus-born cosmopolitan has been living in Paris and performing sold-out concerts in venues from the Gulf region to Canada. After acclaimed performances at Kampnagel during the 2016 Summer Festival and Theater der Welt in 2017, Lena Chamamyan is now traveling to Hamburg with a seven-piece ensemble to create a new musical world order full of hope that transcends borders.
