The Choir of the Uncivilized Voices is an intergenerational choir for people who are marked as different and marginalised in society. A space for people who want to make music together but don't feel like they belong in other choirs in the city. Singing together is the main activity. Different individuals collectively find a polyphonic, sonorous power. In regular meetings, different musical genres are tried out, combined and own songs are developed. The Choir of the Uncivilised Voices sees itself as a community of the many that opposes a discriminatory high culture of the few. The project aims to strengthen cohesion between different people, especially those with an international family history, who have a place to share their time, wishes, feelings and passion for music with this choir. At this event, the Choir of the Uncivilised Voices invites you to sing along – you can choose to sing soprano, alto, tenor or bass. A choir director and soloists will guide you through the evening. The texts will of course be projected – sing along!
