Every autumn, when the sky above Berlin takes on the same color as the streets below, casting the world in the capital in concrete grey for a few months, Isolation Berlin comes to the rescue. Since 2012, the four-piece band has been demonstrating how to process depressive episodes through pop songs. Lyrics such as »Ein Krieg tobt hinter meiner Stirn/ Mein größter Feind ist mein Gehirn« (»A war rages behind my forehead/ My greatest enemy is my brain«) not only resonate with singer Tobias Bamborschke, who has also published two volumes of poetry with Kiepenheuer & Witsch, but also provide him with solace. DER SPIEGEL also described the band, whose latest and third album »Geheimnis« (»secret«) was released on the esteemed Staatsakt label, as having a great strength: »The horror of everyday life bundled into casually dropped, finely polished pop slogans«. Isolation Berlin will perform the closing concert of the ZEIT STIFTUNG BUCERIUS EuropaCamp at Kampnagel in the partially seated large hall k6, after which the gray clouds will have dissipated.
