Mable Preach

For the season opening, the successful Hamburg director Mable Preach and her BIPOC team of performers embark on a journey through time to the pre-colonial Ashanti Empire, today’s Ghana. The bio-fictional search for traces of female figures in the anti-colonial resistance serves to develop anti-racist strategies from a young, female perspective. Through the video projections and live singing, a panel scenery is (re)constructed as a speculative setting, interwoven with contemporary pop quotations, in which historical female figures enter into a fictional dialogue with each other.
