In the summer of 2021 – after long walks through the Engadine Alps and movement research in a Hamburg studio on the river Bille – Maria Zimpel films Waterdances / Yes Poems together with Claudio von Planta. Together they explore their idea of the body as a transmitter and the ecofeminist idea oft he embodied nature. Nature is not separated from us but rather a dynamic force rewilding the body from within. Through Mobilising the sensous body they search for the patterns and qualities that organise both the movements of the dancing body and of the natural surfaces. The boundaries between one and the other become diluted. The choreography moves between real and imagined landscapes, explores geological surfaces and investigates the poetics of water. The film tells a non-linear story of an encounter of the body with natural landscapes
