Germany sees itself as the world champion of remembrance and reappraisal. But how is it then that right-wing populists win elections, right-wing extremist crimes are inadequately investigated, and “Never again is now” has become nothing more than a hollow phrase? Max Czollek and Hadija Haruna-Oelker believe that this is also due to a failed German culture of remembrance. At Kampnagel, they read from their book “Alles auf Anfang” – an astute and controversial analysis of the social shift to the right by two important intellectual voices of the present.
