In the American Declaration of Independence from 1776, the pursuit of happiness is postulated as one of three inalienable human rights. But what is happiness? Could it appear as the end of a Hollywood-Western, however surprising and inappropriate? Nature Theater of Oklahoma cast their gaze on the mythos and the legacy of the American dream. Developed as collaboration with the Ljubljana-based dance company EnKnapGroup, PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS deals with the voracious expansionin the Wild West and all the violence that ensued as a result. A bizarre, painful and hilarious horror comedy.
