The premiere of the piece at the Teatr Powszechny caused a politicalscandal and drew international attention. OliverFrljić carries us off to a country where no one wants to live, no one can live. It is a country in which religious fervor and xenophobic insanity are a part of daily life. The piece is based on Stanisław Wyspiański’s drama The Curse (1899), which describes the true events that took place in Gręboszów: A woman is impregnated by a village priest and then excluded by the community and stoned to death.
