Os Barbapapas

Anyone who has always wondered what Brazilian tropicalismo sounds like if combined with Moroccan gnawa music, jazz from Ethiopia, a self-made pot guitar, and glass harp playing (i.e., rubbing drinking glasses) should listen to Os Barbapapas. The quartet from São Paulo named themselves after a quirky French cartoon family from the 70s and just released its second album on Staatsakt / Fun In The Church: "Enigma" is the name of this "food for the heart and soul" (WDR), which seems to have come from another galaxy to irradiate us with musical sunshine.
