»Imagining conflict as place where two different ideas meets, or «point of intersection" of the differences, as a mathematic resolution, to calculate the point of intersection between the two ideas are simply calculating the values for each idea which satisfy simultaneously the two ideas. On my dance practices, still historical conflict between tradition and modernity, I still believe that there is a »point of intersection« of the two, both aim on dance practice, as a main goal, the »point of intersection« could be a place of opportunity, where can be generated the new idiom. On the creation «point of intersection" I try to work from the perspective of conflict, who has a power, how to let the power, how to deal with differences, how the differences can be transformed from the conflict situation to an opportunity to discover the new. This creation is the continuation of my research around the post-colonial African body, all conflict still between the past, present and future. For this creation, I chose to work with two generations of dancers who form the current company, generations coming from different aesthetic, between the modern and traditional aesthetics." - Panaibra Gabriel Canda
