Patricia Carolin Mai

Hamburg choreographer Patricia Carolin Mai has created a trilogy about bodies in extreme states. In her new solo KONTROL she is embarking on a self-experiment with her own body. For twelve months the former competitive swimmer trained under the guidance of the sports scientist Patrick Rump to explore how much a body can be transformed through extreme muscle building. With her process of supposed androgynisation, she is looking for a means of overwriting attributed and inscribed body characteristics.
