As always the Pride Week leading up to the Pride March is starting with a grand and diverse opening show at Kampnagel: there will be music, dance, talks and an informative programme around the motto: „self-determination now! United against trans*phobia.“ As in every year at the end of the evening is going to be the Pride Award Ceremony as the highlight of the evening. Presenter Markus Tirok will welcome, p.e., the House of Brownies who processes the reality of the lives of queer BIPoC by dancing. The music will be brought by Becks and Lie Ning who already amassed a huge fan community with their debut albums and who bring modern sounds with powerful lyrics tot he stage as queer representatives of Gen-Z. As a musician, model and dancer Lie Ning is a strong voice of the queer PoC community. Becks processes her personal experiences, p.e. her love for women, in impressive songs. Top notch musical comedy will be brought by Coremy who mixes piano, guitar and ocarina with humorous and fierce lyrics. Lila Sovia from Hamburg writes emotional lyric and ironic prose, political speeches that are marked by a strong intersectional feminist hand and finished by a self-critical attitude. The best spoken word poetry! Everything you need to know about the HAMBURG PRIDE 2023 and its motto will be found out in the talks where, amongst other people, the human rights activist Julia Monro will be present. Furthermore the second mayor of Hamburg, Katharina Fegebank, and the consul general of hate USA, Jason Chue, will be amongst the guests.

Sign language interpreters will interpret the whole show – this is possible due to the support of the Gehörlosenverband Hamburg.
