In the ROLL OF THE DICE Krump battle, under the artistic direction of Hamburg-based Krump dancers Queen & Aura, outstanding national and international Krump dancers compete against each other to demonstrate their talent.

The Krump dance style originated in South Central, LA in the 2000s and is characterised by elements of isolation of individual body parts and expressive movements. Krump embodies the experience of social inequality and is a dance form of resistance against oppression and discrimination. At the ROLL OF THE DICE battle, spectators watch the rousing performances to the beats of a DJ from the stands, while the dancers compete against each other in a knockout system until there is a winner – judged by a jury of experts.
