Welcome to Queer B-Cademy – Teachings of post-academic knowledge,
The performance art festival about queer utopia, futurist practice and intersectional perspectives.

Local and international artists and activists together with the esteemed audience are all invited and called on to transform Kampnagel into a temple of the distribution of queer knowledge. Where workshops meet new concepts of Wellness, where Imagination is being liberated of its shabby stigma of naiveté and instead elevated to a tool for social justice.

Queer B-Cademy is a playground for adults, whose life has grown too serious, yet it is an honest place with serious intentions. At the same time it is the complement to and outbreak of the a-cademic system, which merely reproduces itself and perpetually excludes certain people. It is a platform for off-mainstream perspectives. Serving as the alleged opposition of exclusive social patterns, »Queerness« is being examined on the test bench: Who feels represented by it and who feels excluded? Is it just a neoliberal passing fancy? Does it merely consist of brief moments of self-adulation?

We position ourselves on the the late José Esteban Muñoz’ side who said: »Queerness is not here yet, [...], but we can feel it as the warm illumination of a horizon imbued with potentiality.« We like to look ahead without staring into space in the quest of finding the transformative powers within the concept of Queerness.

Queer B-Cademy is the unapologetic desire for new structures, a boot camp of solidarity and a temple of uniqueness. B-sides b-ing listened to, b-liefs formulated and new b-f-f‘s made, it it safe to say – there will also b some dancing!
