Joy is known to be a luxury good in the global north – someone who feels joy can't be doing all too badly. Them jelly boogers start thinking: What's behind this brazen display of life-affirming energy? Are they in love? Is it cash flow? Or is it simply an optimal work-life balance? What’s being often overlooked: the climatic conditions in the global north force its population to be tense, moody, and often to greedily compensate through self-medication, consumerism, and – you guessed it: shameless nagging. The cult show and party series Queereeoké therefore invites you to first of all take a deep breath and hook into the parasympathetic nervous system with a deep vibrato. It's time to make the impossible possible - what else is queer mentality for? Let’s push open the gates of the inner Club Tropicana. Wham! Bam! Party lights on, fancy rag on, sound check, one two three four: let's go! Just in time for Pride Month, it's back to the grind, because queer joy is a means of resistance against oppression, and it beacons to be practised.
