The Inhabitants of Images

Layer by layer, Rabih Mroué exposes the construction and deconstruction of images from Lebanese political campaigns. These include street posters with portraits of fallen »martyrs« that were posted by Hezbollah across Beirut. THE INHABITANTS OF IMAGES shows the connection between image-creation and effective force, and how it is meant to influence the political, military and religious awareness of a society. It also demonstrates how every action is influenced by the ways our underlying knowledge is produced and interpreted.
THE INHABITANTS OF IMAGES is part of trilogy by Rabih Mroué. Find all three productions here.
