Rahul Gandhi, Member of the Indian Parliament and President of the Indian National Congress (INC) will give a keynote speech as part of the ZEIT-Stiftung’s Bucerius Summer School on Global Governance. On August 22, 2018, he talks about »India and the World« at Kampnagel and will give his views about the political and economic situation of the third largest economy in Asia.

After graduating in international relations and development studies, Rahul Gandhi initially worked as an IT consultant. 2004 he went into politics and in 2017 became successor to his mother Sonia in the leadership of the Congress party, of which he had been presidident for 19 years. At the next parliamentary elections 2019 Gandhi, whose family has shaped India's politics for decades, will be contender of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of the national conservative BJP party.
