With her artistic works, Rebecca Chaillon is a critical, controversial voice in France’s post-colonial discourse. In this new work she reflects her situation as a French woman with roots in Martinique, her lived experiences with racism and the paradoxical and multiple tensions when it comes to the subject of love and desire. Her anti-racist and queer attitude in the active struggle for Afro-feminism is the essential basis of Rebecca Chaillon’s artistic work.
