For two years, the Summer Festival garden was defined by a sophisticated pandemic concept and also an open-air concert stage replacing the one in the interior club space. The latter’s pulse now beats again on all festival evenings, while outside the garden returns to the great form of performative feel-good oasis: open to all
nice people, with a huge food and drink court by lovely Peacetanbul and a daily program that alone deserves the name festival. On the entire site, designed by JASCHA&FRANZ, there will be installations, performative surprises, daily programming at Migrantpolitan and the DIASPORIC ECHOES series on the Waldbühne with readings and acoustic concerts. And part of the Avant-Garten’s return is, of course, the Hamburg-based Life Art Guerilla JAJAJA, which has reached the heart of the garden’s audience with its mix of performance radio, anarchic art and Dada activism. Through headphones that can be borrowed free of charge, JAJAJA will deliver the best and weirdest headphone party with RADIO ATOPIA every Friday and Saturday again. A lot happens unplanned in the Avant-Garten, but one thing is for sure: everyone stays here much longer than planned.
